Gus, Guster, Auggie, August. This little dude turns 3 today. We love him more than anything and couldn’t imagine our family without him. Love you buddy!
Just a sneak peek at what I’m working on right now… Can’t wait to show you!
I spent all day Friday at garage sales. It was exhausting. And guess what?! I came home with only 3 pieces of furniture. It was kind of a bust. But, some days are like that. We also spent Sunday at the Elkhorn Flea Market. I do love that Flea Market, but it was hot, and by 10:00 a great deal of stuff had been marked SOLD. So that was a bust as well. However, it is so fun to wander around there and see what people are selling and what people are buying! Last year I was looking for anything […]
I grabbed this china cabinet at the barn sale a few weeks ago and I just knew it could be beautiful. My neighbor Jill snatched it up right away. Oh the potential! We decided on heirloom white with a tan interior and a little bit of distressing. Boy. This is a keeper. It turned out great! I primed it with Kilz, sprayed with Rustoleum Heirloom white and then rolled on the interior tan. It turned out great! Jill is going to be so excited! I love what a little paint can do.
This little gal came home with me from the barn sale. Super cute and a quick makeover makes it rock. My favorite color: Lots of distressing and some wax. And it was great! I also got to use a knob that I’ve been waiting to use on the perfect piece! The magic of paint. Just love it.
At the barn sale a few weeks ago, I grabbed this wash stand off the barn sale lady. It was in fantastic shape. The client that purchased it wanted to do a fun color with some good knobs and I was happy to oblige! I left the top because it was so gorgeous, then painted the base in turquoise and distressed it with some 80 grit sandpaper. Then added those great red knobs. I just love how it turned out. So great! Funky, fun and functional. How’s that for alliteration?!
Look at these boys. Look at them! They are growing up so quickly, it’s just killing me. Porter. Age 6. 5K (all day kindergarten). Hasn’t cut his hair since…I don’t remember. He refuses to cut it until at least the day before the last day of school (his words). Although, if he doesn’t cut it, I won’t mind. I think it’s adorable. He has green eyes, potatoes in his ears, loves riding his bike and has yet to lose a tooth. He’s a lefty and loves pizza. And, he learned to read this year. It’s magical. Jack. Age 5. (As […]
1. It was our anniversary on the 11th. We’ve been married for 10 years! It’s hard to believe. It’s been a great 10 years and is only getting better. I love you babe. 2. We got an anniversary/mother’s day/father’s day present! I love it! 3. We decided to take a little vacay this past weekend in honor of our anniversary. No scratch that. We went to Minneapolis and drove around until our rear ends were numb. Our mission was to find a neighborhood/city that feels just like the one we’re currently in. We drove for 3 days checking out tons […]
I found this little dresser thing at a garage sale and knew I could do something with it. It was in pretty bad shape. There was supposed to be two more drawers in it, but they weren’t there. So I took the back off and then used the sawsall to cut off those triangle pieces and that piece of wood that was a guide for the drawers. I thought about putting a shelf in there, but I wanted to make it a little more versatile. So, I left it off. It wouldn’t be hard at all to put a shelf […]
I love barn sales. And good garage sales. I have found a couple the last few days after a long dry spell. Today, I’m going to show you a couple things I found at some sales! Not to make you jealous, but to prove that garage sales aren’t bad and that barn sales rock. I got this rug at a garage sale at a lake house. It was $20. I bought it because I’ve been wanting an oval one to put in our living room for a long time, but with the move, I wasn’t willing to spend hundreds on […]
