I don’t usually like gold….except when it is antiqued and aged and chippy and gorgeous…. This is from Pinterest, so go ahead and click on the photo to see where it came from. (Again, can’t quite figure out how to get my name off of just one photo since it puts it on all of them…so sorry about that). BUT, look at how beautiful the white is with all the antique gold and that crystal chandelier….yummy.
Another failed attempt at a proper before and after….slacker. Imagine two matching dressers, sitting in a garage waiting for some love…. In comes my friend Bridget who is a little afraid of color, but knows that if she wants these pieces made over she needs to go bold or go home. So she makes a decision, we discuss, we plan and I paint. Decision and Execution successful. Gorgeous coordinating dressers that aren’t too matchy-matchy. LOVE how these turned out. LOVE.
She needed a little more love than others often do. And it makes me so sad, because she was in such disarray… An old radio cabinet that no longer worked, it sat in an attic needing some love for a long time. I couldn’t decide what to do with it, so it sat in my garage for a month. I decided she needed some Florence. And some hinged doors in the back, so I added some with some wood I had hanging around. A friend mentioned she’d be a great doll house! Of course, my boys were all about hiding […]
1. I’ve written this type of post 51 times. Wow. I think I’ll go back and read them. Will they be funny? Stupid? Do I still feel the same way about things? I’ll keep you posted. 2. I had a dream about a boyfriend from the 5th grade the other day. That’s right. 5th grade boyfriend. His name is Derek. If he ever reads this, he will think I’m crazy. People. I had a dream about us as 5th graders! Weird pregnancy hormones. If my husband reads this he will tease me….And for that reason, I won’t tell you the […]
1. Puking in a Kopp’s Custard Shop bathroom is NOT fun. 2. Moving sucks. 3. You don’t have to keep your house spotless, no matter what your mother says. 4. It becomes all about them and less about you. Okay, never about you. 5. It’s okay to want pretty things. And then to buy them for yourself. 6. After you have a baby your hair will fall out in clumps and you will wonder if wigs are itchy and hot and if you could get away with wearing one. 7. You must read Parenting with Love and Logic. Pick your […]
I love this pendant light. Love it. I want one. This is from one of my favorite online lighting shops, Barn Light Electric. (You can click the picture to go right to the light.) I wish they would send me free lights. I wish they knew how much I love them. I wish they would be just a teensy bit cheaper….. xo
Can you believe I actually thought this had potential?! It took some elbow grease, a face mask and a bunch of these with some wood glue: But I got her to look a little better. Then she got sanded. A lot. Then some great Chalk Paint in the newest color, Florence. And a little dark wax. And she is dreamy. Just plain dreamy. Love. Her name is Meranda.
1. I hate selling a house. 2. I love shopping for houses. If only we could buy any one we wanted…. 3. I threw up in the Kopp’s Custard Shop bathroom the other day. It was a disgusting place to throw up. 4. My damn dog jumps on the counter and eats food off of plates left on the counter. The other day she ate an entire bbq pork sandwich from an amazing bbq restaurant in Milwaukee. Tom was so angry she ate the last sandwich! 5. I love Butterfingers right now. 6. Have I ever mentioned I hate grocery […]
1. Babies change your life. 2. You will NEVER sleep again. Evident by this photo of a very sleepy mommy: 3. Babies don’t need all the crap we buy them. It’s true. 4. Your life will revolve around a schedule. You will write down when your baby poops, eats, burps, sleeps… 5. You MUST go on dates. No matter what.
We drove. Thousands of miles. To go to the beach. And it was the best! Here are a few snapshots of our trip. I noticed I didn’t take many pictures. Then I saw that hubby took a few, and my sister-in-law loaded some up on our computer, so I was relieved. Tons of photos but just a glimpse into the fun we had. It is definitely a trip we will never forget!
