Can you believe I actually thought this had potential?!
It took some elbow grease, a face mask and a bunch of these with some wood glue:
But I got her to look a little better.
Then she got sanded. A lot. Then some great Chalk Paint in the newest color, Florence. And a little dark wax. And she is dreamy. Just plain dreamy.

Dumb question from a CP newbie. So this is just one coat of paint, then the wax? Can you tell me the exact process/products? This is just the look I want for one of my pieces! The darker stuff shows through the blue from underneath, like from a basecoat? Or the wax makes that look? Thanks for reading
