The Ides of March. I will forever remember because of Latin class in High School. Latin IV. That’s right 4 years of Latin. In High School. Ecce Romani.
I found this desk at St. Vinny’s. My least favorite place to shop second-hand…
The top looked like it had been sitting in a welding shop. It had deep burns through it, but that got fixed right up.
The handles were awesome. But they needed a little clean up. They aren’t perfect now, but imperfect is kind of my thing.
This stuff worked great. I just rubbed it on, let it sit and then cleaned it off.
Gross.
So, I mixed a little pure white with some provence and got this beautiful light turquoise. Then I mixed some Jacobean stain with wax and rubbed it on. Done and done.
I love the brass with the turquoise. It just makes me happy!

GORGEOUS! I llloooovvveeee this desk. It was obvious from the beginning that it had great bones, but you really made it shine – literally! Bravo!
Dying. How do you find such good pieces?! Our St. Vincent’s is in da hood, so I rarely go. I love your new desk.
I rarely find good stuff at St. Vincent’s, usually if I do it is extremely over priced. Stick with Goodwill and Garage Sales!
